Our cPanel hosting supports these PHP versions, and you can choose a different one for each domain:
PHP 5.3, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5
New accounts use PHP 8.2 by default.
Which version should I use?
We recommend a version that still gets security updates from the PHP project:
- PHP 8.4 or 8.5: recommended for new sites. Both get full bug and security fixes.
- PHP 8.3: gets security fixes only, until 31 December 2027.
- PHP 8.2: gets security fixes only, until 31 December 2026. Plan to upgrade before then.
PHP 8.1 and older no longer get any security updates. We keep them available for legacy sites that can't be upgraded yet, but a site on one of these versions may be exposed to known security problems. Check with your developer, or your theme and plugin providers, before upgrading, then test your site afterwards.

Set a specific version
If your site needs a particular version, set that version for your domain rather than relying on the default. We update the default from time to time, and a site set to a specific version won't change when we do.
