What is the difference between normal VPS and cloud VPS?

A normal VPS lives on one physical server, so if that machine fails, so does your VPS. A cloud VPS runs on a clustered platform, so it can move to another node if there’s a fault.

Are these VPS plans managed?

No, our Cloud VPS plans are unmanaged. You get full root access and look after the operating system and software yourself. If you’d rather we looked after it, take a look at our Managed cPanel VPS.

Which operating systems can I install?

Popular Linux distributions install automatically from the management panel (see the supported list below), or you can install your own OS through the web console.

Can I upgrade my VPS later?

Yes. You can move to a bigger plan as you grow from the client area under Services → My Services → your VPS → Upgrade/Downgrade.

Is it cheaper to pay yearly?

Yes. Paying yearly costs less than paying monthly or quarterly, and the saving is shown under each plan’s price.

Where are your servers located?

Our Cloud VPS servers are in Auckland, New Zealand, on Hoopla’s own network with local peering.
