You can create email addresses for your domain (like you@yourdomain.co.nz) yourself in a minute or two, straight from our client area. You don't need a separate cPanel password.
Create an email account
- Log in to the client area and go to Services → My Services (https://www.hooplahosting.co.nz/client/clientarea.php?action=services).
- Click your hosting service to open it.
- Under Quick Shortcuts, click Email Accounts. This opens the Email Accounts page in cPanel.
- Click + Create.
- If you have more than one domain on the account, choose the right one from the Domain list.
- Enter the Username, which is the part before the @ (for example
accountsorjane). - Click Generate for a strong password, or type your own. Copy it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to set up the account on your devices.
- Set the Storage Space. Leave it at the default unless you want to stop one mailbox using too much of your plan's disk space.
- Click + Create.
The new address works straight away, as long as your domain's email is hosted with us.
Next: start using your new email
- Read it in your browser: click Log in to Webmail on your service page, or see How do I use webmail?
- Add it to your phone or computer (Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail app and others): see How do I get my email? for the server settings. On the Email Accounts page you can also click Connect Devices next to the account to see the exact settings for that mailbox.
Managing existing accounts
On the same Email Accounts page you can:
- Change a password: click Manage next to the account, enter a new password and click Update Email Settings. Remember to update it on every device that uses the account.
- Change the storage limit under Manage.
- Delete an account under Manage. This deletes all its email permanently, so download or move anything you want to keep first. See How do I transfer emails from one email account to another?
Don't need a whole mailbox?
- If you just want mail to an address like
sales@to arrive in an existing inbox, use a forwarder instead. Click Forwarders under Quick Shortcuts on your service page. - To send an automatic reply while you're away, use Autoresponders under Quick Shortcuts. See What is an auto responder?
Using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?
If your domain's email is hosted with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another provider, create your mailboxes there instead. Accounts made in cPanel won't receive any mail while your domain's MX records point somewhere else.
Need help?
If Email Accounts doesn't appear on your service page, or you can't create an account, open a support ticket from Support → Open Ticket with the domain name and the address you're trying to create. Please don't include passwords in the ticket.
