Hoopla Hosting runs its VPS services on Proxmox VE clusters.

Proxmox VE is an open-source virtualisation platform. Each VPS runs isolated from the other servers on the cluster.

Storage is provided by Ceph, a distributed storage system. Every piece of your VPS data is kept as three copies, spread across the cluster. If a disk or a server fails, your data stays available from the remaining copies.

Replication protects against hardware failure, but it isn't a backup. If a file is deleted or changed, that change is replicated too, so we still recommend keeping your own backups.
