AI Enabled Web Hosting: connect AI tools to your cPanel (start here)
Every Hoopla Hosting web hosting account includes cPanel Meridian, which can connect to AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Gemini. Once connected, you can manage your hosting in plain English and deploy AI-built websites and apps straight to your account.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants talk to other services securely. cPanel Meridian connects to WebPros MCP (WebPros are the makers of cPanel), which gives your AI tool a set of cPanel "tools" it can use on your behalf.
The MCP server address used by every tool is:

- Ask questions about your hosting: "How much disk space am I using?", "List my email accounts", "Show the DNS records for mydomain.co.nz".
- Deploy AI-built apps: build a Node.js website or app (React, Vite, Next.js and similar) in your AI tool, then ask it to deploy to AI App Hosting on your domain.
Note: MCP deployment currently supports Node.js apps using AI App Hosting. It isn't a deployment method for WordPress or traditional PHP websites.
How the connection works
- In cPanel Meridian, go to Profile → Connections and click Link WebPros Account.
- Meridian gives you a Client ID.
- You add the MCP server address and Client ID to your AI tool.
- You sign in to WebPros in your browser and approve access. Your cPanel password is never shared with the AI tool.
You can revoke access at any time from Profile → Connections in cPanel.

Staying safe
- The AI tool acts with your cPanel account's permissions. Read every action it asks to run before you approve it.
- Start with read-only questions before asking for changes.
- Take a backup (cPanel → Backup) before big changes.
- Keep your Client ID and any MCP keys private. Never post them in support tickets, forums or screenshots.
- Revoke the connection in Profile → Connections if you stop using it.
